The counter was also the most traded stock during the day with 20,036,500 shares changing hands. The day saw another crossing taking place on 1,100,000 shares of Seylan Bank (non voting) at a rate of Rs. 9.25, which led the counter to become the second highest contributor with a turnover of Rs. 38.67 million. The third highest contributor for turnover was Lanka Tile with a turnover value of Rs. 25.25 million, which was again resulting from two crossing of 379,000 shares at Rs. 65.00.The DJSL20 Index gained 1.48 points to close at 165.36 points. Sri Lanka Telecom was once again the most positive contributor to the index with a Rs.1.00 appreciation in the its weighted average share price, while the Rs.1.00 decline of the weighted average share price of HNB voting shares led the counter to become the most negative effect towards the indexThe DJIMSL Index gained 29.92 points to close at 1,140.90 points. AMW had the main positive effect towards this index with its weighted average share price appreciation of Rs.13.50.
