Unidentified persons attacked the Registrar of the Sri Lanka Medical Council Dr N.J.Nonis in Moratuwa, police sources said.
He was assaulted close to his residence in Rawatawatta.
Dr. Nonis has been critical of the establishment of the Private Medical college in Malabe.
