Sri Lanka Air Force MI-24 helicopter gunships launched close air support mission ahead of security forces defence line in Muhamalai in Jaffna this morning, May 21.
Air Force spokesperson, Wing Commander Andrew Wijesooriya speaking to defence.lk said that targets of the mission were an LTTE mortar launching pad and an LTTE's gathering place located 3Km ahead of the security forces defence line in Muhamalai.
Air raids conducted around 6.00 a.m, spokesperson further added.
