1st of all lkdood, this is wrong,

SLT didn't notify any of it's xcite subscribers of the problem, users had to make the call themselves and verify the decrease in speed. Really bad customer support

this is not an official stuff dude, dey dnt have to call and verify. this is just a paper notice from some1 hu says he got this through a trusted guy, bt itz not. my 1mb connection z wrking fine n i think for this month i downloaded over 30gb without any problem.

u can verify it nicely by this. look at the xcel plus rates.
8000 per month for 16gb....
and every other netwrk companies, dialog,airtel,mobitel all are taking their leased line from SLT by paying a huge monthly amount for SLT. so look at their rates, normaly all others give 15gb for 2900/= in 3.6mbps connection. aft dat speeds getting low. if sm1 get 3 othr connections, dey can 45gb bandwidth arnd 8000 rupees.. this is not an official thng dude. jst a piece of paper

Say goodbye to unlimited bandwidth from SLT ADSL. The TRC is cracking down on all ISPs to introduce bandwidth caps and place in a fair-user policy on all broadband packages. There goes the neighbourhood for us heavy users At least this way SLT won't dominate the broadband market.

This came after SLT's servers crashed due to the big growth of heavy users (who used the 1mbps xcite package). After this crash, all users of the 1mbps xcite package were affected and their speeds practically came to a standstill (speeds became slower than a dial-up connection). So xcite users (like myself) have been asked to downgrade for the time being and SLT is planning to roll out these new packages to eliminate the old ones.
