Hi Guys/Gals I want to share my recent experience with SLT broadband packages. I was on SltHome (512 Kbps) package and upgraded to the SLT Xcite(1Mbps) about two months back. (Rs. 2900+ per month) on the Home package i got about 450Kbps on average according to 'SpeedConnect' speed test. After the upgrade i got a speed of around 850Kbps for the first two days. and now the speed has come down to 200Kbps average when checked using the same speed test. :oo: The Strange and Funny part is that when i accidently typed Login detials of my SLT Entree Package (the Rs. 500 one with a 1GB limitation) which i use in my office, I got back my 850Kbps speed. :frown: I have made 5 complaints with SLT uptill date and have recieved so many calls from SLT and so many visits to my house. All the complaints were closed after few days without even notifying me and without solving the problem (but has marked that the problem is solved) :baffled:. Today one guy called me from SLT colombo technical section (after another complaint put by me) and said 250Kbps is the speed they can give me for the 'Excite package' as it is a shared bandwidth and i'll have to live with that and they cannot do anything about it. The reason he gave me for the 'Entree Package' login details to give me better speed was that this Rs 500 bb package is not limited on Bandwidth cos the cutomers will pay if they download more than 1GB. (But will have to pay only a maximum of Rs.3000 per month). AND he sugested me to downgrade my self to that Rs. 500/- package if need to get better bandwidth. Whata Marketing Stratergy! I am So annoyed with SLT right now! Guys be aware if you are planning to upgrade yourself to the Excite 1Mbps package. Always ask for a trial period to check the speed otherwise you'll end up paying upgrading charges + monthly rental + downgrading charges + and a speed of a dialup connection! Any other Broadband package i can try which is wihtout a limitation?
