A virus attack at Sri Lanka Telecom (SLT) has resulted in customers unable to access several websites hosted by SLT including Daily Mirror online from overseas and at times even from Sri Lanka.

Daily Mirror online received several complaints over the past few days from overseas readers saying the website could not be accessed. A similar problem was experienced by readers in Sri Lanka as well over the past few days.

Meanwhile SLT internet users in Colombo also complained that download speeds had been affected over the past few days. When contacted an SLT spokesman said that the problem had resulted from a virus attack and the issue should be rectified soon.
