From the information I can gather PPP down occurs because the ADSL circuit at the ISP (Sri Lanka Telecom) does not support the router ADSL TYPE. Went into the Router Config through 192.168.1.12. Advanced Settings -> DSL (ADSL for Prolink I believe)3. Unticked all boxes except G.Dmt4. Applied changesWhat I noticed is that I have improved my speed as well. In my router (and all routers I have tested) the speed showed as 508Kbps and 124Kbps but when I did the above, the speed went upto 512Kpbs and 128Kbps! Not much, but it confirmed the setting that I am in now is the CORRECT mode for my ADSL line.My Router was set up by SLT (for peo TV and Stuff) and they never changed the settings.Someone need to poke a SLT Engineer to respond to this. May be I am wrong... It also seems after the setting change, the IP change from SLT (Every 10 hours) is TRULY unnoticeable (previously, connections dropped and stuff).</blockquote>
