The most Sacred Buddhist Temple, declared a World Heritage Site, was bombed by tamil terrorists. Built approximately in the 1600’s
All Sri Lankans should remember these dates and show the enemies and foreigners who support them, that we do not forget the atrocities done.
It has been a habit of Sinhela Buddhists to forget the harm done and soon go about with their hands around the shoulders of enemies.
Buddhist Monks and the Dayakayas can lead the way by having a special Pooja on this day
2008 WILL BE 10 YEARS, BY THEN LET US MAKE EVERYONE IN THE WORLD KNOW AND TALK ABOUT THIS.
This is what HRH Prince Charles told at the occasion:-
HRH Prince Charles, the Prince of Wales, speaking on behalf of the foreign dignitaries who participated in the 50th Independence Anniversary Celebrations in Colombo, 5th February.
" A proud consciousness of this richness of heritage must have made your pain all the more acute when a bomb was exploded at the Temple of the Tooth last month. It was a brutal and malign act, and one which we all join in condemning. The Temple of the Tooth is a part of the world's heritage; it is not just Sri Lankan nor just Buddhist. So all your foreign guests wish you well in the long and painstaking task of restoring the Temple to it's original splendour."
