Sri Lanka's interim cricket committee was dissolved by the sports minister on Tuesday ahead of elections ordered by the International Cricket Council.
Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage sacked a five-member committee which he appointed five months ago and appointed his secretary as competent authority over Sri Lanka Cricket until elections are held this year.
SLC has not had an elected body for seven years. Political appointees have ran the administration.
Tired of political involvement in sports administration, the ICC in June unanimously decided to amend its laws to make free elections mandatory for all national bodies by mid 2012.
