  • Kumar Sangakkara, Sri Lanka's captain, has been fined 10% of his match fees while the rest of the team received a 5% cut on their earnings, for maintaining a slow over-rate during the second semi-final against West Indies at The Oval.

Match Referee Alan Hurst imposed the fines on the Sri Lankan team after they were found to have bowled one over short of the requisite amount after time allowances were taken into consideration.

As per the ICC Code of Conduct guidelines, individual players are fined 5% of their match fee for each over that is bowled beyond the allotted time limit, while the captain is fined double that amount.

Sri Lanka beat West Indies by 57 runs to secure their place in the ICC World Twenty20 final against Pakistan at Lord's on Sunday.

who cares we won the game that's enough. we can give our players all the money they've been denied once they get back home.
