I too had a very bad experience with Sri Lanka Insurance...once we met with an accident only they come out with all these...for me they said vehicle was under estimated, insurance pay only for reconditioned parts if we purchased brand new parts even they pay only reconditioned parts...
and also they took excessive time to pay me and I got less than 50%:baffled::baffled::baffled::baffled:
if it is a minor accident nothing to worry..when it exeede 2/3 lack they drag all these things to reduce the amount :rofl::rofl:

it is like this for SLIC

Owners account charge = 20% charged to you.

in case of repair done at company by replacing part. (Eg. Bumper Replace to new)
if vehicle 1 Year old, No Owners Account
    if Vehicle 1 - 2 Years 10%
    if Vehicle 2 -3 Years most probably 15% (10%-15%)
if Vehicle 3 -5 Years less than 20%
if vehicle more than 5 Years 35%

if repair done at company and repairing only no part replace. it depend on your and company bargaining power. bcoz no value defined, but less than replace cost.

If repair done at third party and repair only, it totally depend on your bargaining power bcoz no value defined and no one will challenge insurance assessor. but these garage persons know what to show and what to charge.

    * vehicle year is not the age from registration date. it is from the calendar year. Eg. if you buy vehicle on 1/1/2015 and accident on 02/15/2016 they treat you as 2nd year. even vehicle registration on 28/12/2015 and accident on 10/10/2016 still treat as 2nd year.

    insurance are tricky....
(Sorry writing this hurry.. so writing very short )
