COLOMBO, Sept 12 (Reuters) - Sri Lanka lifted a tsunami alert issued on Wednesday for its north, south and eastern districts after a major earthquake in Indonesia, the National Disaster Management Centre said.
"We have lifted the warning as there is no threat anymore, there will not be a major wave," said Keerthi Ekanayake, an official at the centre.
The alert was lifted soon after Indonesia's meteorological agency lifted its own tsunami warning.
