Sri Lanka has rejected the U.S.-led resolution at the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC).

The United States submitted the resolution to the UNHRC on Friday.

Permanent representative of Sri Lanka to the UNHRC Ravinatha Aryasinha says that the resolution is unfair, biased, unjust and contrary to the principles of cooperation genuine dialogue and the founding principles of universality.

He also said the Sri Lankan government does not recognise the previous resolution that was adopted by the UNHRC last year.
