Sri Lanka should become an automated Country to stop CEB strikes.

Sri Lanka should install fiber optic cables like South Korea to monitor Electric meters. They can also be used as an internet cable. Then there will be no need to have meter readers. All electric bills can be sent via sms or post. It can also be put online.

There should be desentralisaion of CEB company as a whole . It should be divided. Even if is govenment owned. National Grid should be different single company, electricity distribution should be split into multiple different companies, and meter monitoring should be done in distribution company.

Private power plants should compete be able to compete with Government owned ones in Power production.Private power generating companies should directly be able to sell power to consumers which would include charges of grid and distribution companies.In which case there will be more electric companies same as in UK.
