Sri Lanka if it wants quick foreign investments ,should join ASEAN. Which supports more free trade compared to others. Sri Lankan interest lies in Asia. SAARC has not delivered any benifits compared to ASEAN. Where countries in the block have better foreign investment and better growth. By joining Asean it will achieve faster economic growth, which is stagnent in Sri Lanka since long time. We need better manufacturing base. Better knowledge ecnonomy. ASEAN membership could gives us the boost to move away from Middle income trap.
