The Minister says that his Ministry is having discussions with the Ministry of Higher Education in this regard.    Addressing a meeting in Puttalam district, Minister Jayaratna said  that the hope is to establish an aviation academy in Sri Lanka as a  joint venture with Singapore. According to the Minister Sri Lanka lacks experts in the aviation  industry and it is necessary to produce local supply to meet future  demand. He says aviation experts will play a big role in the future and it  is time for Sri Lanka to follow other developing countries and introduce  aviation as a subject in the school and university curricula.
