The Sri Lankan government plans to seek diplomatic intervention to prevent attacks on Lankan visitors to Tamil Nadu, Media Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said.
The move came after at least three Lankan visitors were assaulted in Tamil Nadu while they were on a pilgrimage to Dambadiva.
Mr Rambukwella said that there has been an increase of these attacks on Lankan visitors and therefore they will be taking up the matter through diplomatic channels with the Indian central government.
“We do not deal with state governments”, he said.
