Subscription based storytelling - A cool idea!

Hey Elakiri Boys and Girls,

I have an idea around disrupting books and want to get your feedback / thoughts on it.

I always thought it would be cool to subscribe to my favourite stories and follow it - as it evolves, rather than buy a book. What if the best stories never had to end? (wishful thinking - also highly arguable, I know).

What if authors could publish a stream of chapters (at their own pace) but users could follow it weekly in a monthly subscription / pay-as-you-go model.

Even for authors, this would help build a continuous revenue stream, create a following, validate your idea from the onset (early traction), fail-fast and pivot to what works, make it easier to approach a agent / publisher, and change the traditional book delivery method to something far more interesting.

If we build a platform around this, it could work not just for massive stories (like MMORPG), but also for for people wanting to launch journals, a sequence of short stories / anecdotes, release a continuous stream of beautiful poetry, whatever really.

Celebrate good writing and amazing authors!

Disclaimer: I'm a book lover at night, and a hacker at day, and I want your feedback to see if this is a viable idea. I'd like to create a discussion around this.

What are your thoughts? I've setup a small response thing to judge how useful it is.

Please fill out, and post comments - http://goo.gl/c98DVp
