Sun close to earth- Eye protection vital
The sun moving directly above the island (sun being close to the earth) can result in humid weather conditions and hot temperature in the country, the Met Department forecasts.
Meanwhile, the exposure of direct sunlight could cause harm to the human eyes, Director of the Colombo Eye Hospital, Dr Sisira Liyanage said. Direct sun rays and the ultra violet rays can cause certain eye ailments as the eye is one of the most sensitive organs of the human body.
To avoid danger, the public are instructed to wear sunglasses or cooling glasses, Dr Liyanage said.
The temperature of Sri Lanka would increase from April 05 to 15.
