Story: I joined Leapset back in 2014, So I can explain a little bit about this rebranding thing. Leapset was also a rebranding from Latitude 360, before that Monvia. Leapset started as a startup where their main product was a POS (point of sale device) and they built an ecosystem around it for restaurant operations. At that time Sysco (which is the second largest food product distributor in the USA) was the main investor for the Leapset. After the success, they wanted to rebranded as Cake to mainly market the POS product. Marketing thought Leapset is hard to read and difficult to market as a brand (that's what they told us). So in USA Leapset became Cake corp and the Sri Lankan entity became Cake Labs. After some time due to our engineering quality and the innovations, we did around the POS device Sysco wanted us to take over their engineering side of the business. To do that they bought Cake corp. Then established two entities as Cake corp and Sysco Labs in the USA. Sri Lankan entity became Sysco Labs. Then after some time for some reason, Sysco sold Cake corp to Mad-Mobile (another USA company revolutionizing the restaurant POS industry). Then Sri Lankan entity became two separate companies. One is Cake a MadMobile Company and Sysco Labs. I must say Leapset and Cake were the days to cherish. we were excited, learning, innovating and I still believe Leapset and Cake had the best culture to work with. I still believe Cake Engineering has that DNA. But Sysco Labs completely new with new hires. I was also part of that team but people who came from Leapset and Cake didn't like the culture Sysco Labs side created. They hired a bunch of people from MIT and they transformed the culture and old people left the company.
Anyone knows salary ranges of it?
I don't know the exact amounts since people in the same level can have varied salary amounts. So an Intern normally gets around 35k, SE around 150k, SSE 190k - 220k, TL 280k - 320k, etc... These are rough amounts based on my experience. This amount can be varied due to experience, academic qualifications, etc...
