Message: <blockquote data-quote="ahamednishadh" data-source="post: 2955763" data-attributes="member: 4368">In another twist to the GCE Advanced Level paper marking crisis, the Association of Educational Professionals complained yesterday that a teacher selected for paper marking  had taken home 14 ‘Business Studies’ answer scripts for marking in gross violation of exam regulations.AEP Secretary Wasantha Dharmasiri charged that this had been committed by a teacher attached to the paper marking centre established at Nissanka Maha Vidyalaya in Kurunegala.Mr. Dharmasiri charged that the Examinations Department had from the outset failed to make a responsible approach towards paper marking, and this could be a result of it.“The education authorities are always trying to show the country that paper marking is being done in a proper manner. We brought this glaring disclosure to the attention of the Education Ministry Secretary too,” he said.Ministry Secretary Nimal Bandara declined to comment on it saying it was a matter solely coming under the purview of Exams Chief Anura Edrisinghe. Mr. Edrisinghe was not available for comment.However, a top education official said the errant teacher could be removed from paper marking panel if found guilty.“The Department can take proper disciplinary action after an inquiry.  This is a serious offense.
