Guyz and Gurlz,

Telecom ADSL is slower than before now. Many people complaining on this. Do u experience the same?
I think their servers and hardware, all do not support the increasing number of customers..I've heard we can complain this to Department of Telecommunications (Telecommunication Regulation Commission? - dont know the exact place) so they will take action against them? I dont know what the legal background is, does anyone know about this? As a community we can address this issue and complain at the Telecom PR.
They keep starting new services and providing service to new customers without backing up their hardware..you all wanna discuss this?
I remember, same problem took place with mobitel guys years back, that was regarding their free voice mail service..
ADSL service gonna experience the same soon, shall we do something?
Also their customer service is the worst, some of the officials at Telecom even blame customers, Ihave seen that..!
Come up with your best idea...
Also I wanna tell u that whenever you come across a problem, dont hesitate to email your problem to Telecom PR, dont waste time talking to your local Telecom center..our people do not use these...all local centers are afraid of the commands of Telecom headoffice.

yes, telecom is sux, but still in sl, it is the only ISP providing unlimited broadband packages. in week deays, specially in the day time, i get a really really slow connection speed. If i have purchased a 2Mbps package, I should get a better speed. If i get a 56k speed with a ADSL 2Mbps package, that isnt fair. its kinda scam.

Long time ago, I heard that there was a group gathered and complained about telecom's slow broadband speed. and the authority did some speed tests at few places in the colombo area and ordered telecoms to to increase the speed. I just heard of it.

I think the place that we should complain is the Department of Telecommunications (Telecommunication Regulation Commission) as mentioned in the first post. theres no chance by talking to to telecom.

if the connection is 512, the max speed you can get is 64KB/s. cos the speed 512 is mentioned in bits rather than bytes. I get 230KB/s of download speed in the night, but arround 70KB/s in the day time. i got a 2Mbps connection. night time speed is ok. but the day time speed sux

My point is, why do we pay them to get a slow connection? They are very precise on billing though we all are having hard times....if u go complaining telecom on this they may even blame u...that's their way..guys I want more and more posts here, I'm going to forward all these to Telecom PR with ma complaint....I will carbon copy the same letter to relevant authorities...they may be limiting the speed of some users while some are given the correct speed...that way they can justify their fault..
They have lot of excuses to say, for example,

Your PC may have some spyware attack,
Servers may be busy,
Your area may be having large number of users,
Ur modem or the PC may have trouble,
Ur browser may be faulty
etc..

So they can always justify their fault..guys u all are representing the whole island, so pls post here...
