Oba Venuwen Api (Infrastructure Development in North & East Sri Lanka)
This project aims to fast track and support the urgent requirement of educational material and related items for our sisters and brothers living in the the northern and eastern districts of SRI LANKA.
Our primary objective is to do what we can as responsible and caring youth of this nation , rather than wait for the state sector to contribute towards this cause, which is an inevitable.
Since the eastern province has been liberated from the clutches of terrorism, a new ray of light for a free life and free education in our mother land has dawned upon the children of the east.
It is up to us “the previlaged” to raise our hands high and come to their aid to help them and support them in the basic requirements needed for education and make them adapt to the various challenges that globalism brings forth.
We at “Tharunyata Hetak” takes this opportunity to help our brothers and sisters in the north and east as a previlage and honor as much as it is our respoonsibilty, towards our own peoples living in our mother land.
Phase number One
The Trincomalee district, has been earmarked as our pilot project for phase number one.
The requirements that range from, stationary, buildings, lab equipment, power sets, school furniture, sanitation for schools, etc will be collected from donors and well wishers throughout our nation and also from our charitable friends,of the international community.
Creating Awareness
” OBA VENUWEN API” Island wide sticker campaign to support this project
The innitial most campaign to be launched from the 16th to 23rd August 2007.
We kindly request our sisters and brothers, together with their families, friends and teachers to support this campaign to the fullest and enjoy the feeling of supporting, those in need of free education, that we as SRI LANKAN’S should be proud of !!
