Here we're ranking the 25 bestselling new cars sold in America through the first three quarters of 2024.

Honda HR-V: 114,805 units sold​

The HR-V is the CR-V's little sibling, and it's becoming one of Honda's core models in terms of sales volume. Sales were up 32 percent through the first three quarters of the year.

Toyota Tundra: 117,523 units sold​

While it can't hold a candle to the domestic Big Three pickups in terms of sales, the redesigned Tundra is having a good year. Its sales are up 27 percent compared with last year.

Kia Sportage: 118,758 units sold​

The Sportage is in a bit of a sibling rivalry with the related Hyundai Tucson. The Kia is losing in the sales race, but is gaining ground with strong results for the first three quarters.

Nissan Sentra: 123,732 units sold​

While the mid-size Altima didn't even make it onto this list, the compact Sentra gained big. Its sales were up 39 percent through the first three quarters, making it the second bestselling Nissan.

Honda Accord: 124,689 units sold​

It's no secret we love the Accord: it's won 10Best more than any other vehicle, and it's our top-ranked mid-size sedan. But still, sales declined 18 percent through the first three quarters of the year.

Subaru Outback: 126,333 units sold​

As arguably the most quintessential Subaru model, the Outback is a consistently strong seller. This SUV-ified station wagon was up 3 percent compared with last year.

The Tacoma finds itself back on this list of bestsellers after a tumultuous changeover period that saw sales dip significantly in the first half of the year.

Subaru Forester: 130,098 units sold​

The new 2025 Forester helped this model grow by 22 percent in the first three quarters. The outgoing generation will live on in Wilderness trim for the time being even as the new model has now started to arrive at dealerships.

The Crosstrek is back in its spot as the bestselling Subaru, beating out the Forester and Outback through the third quarter. Its sales were up 15 percent over this time last year.

Equinox sales are down as the popular compact SUV undergoes a changeover into a new generation. The new 2025 Equinox is now arriving with a new look inside and out. This total does not include the Equinox EV, which sold 10,785 units.

The Tucson compact SUV continues to be the bestselling Hyundai, although sales were down 5 percent compared with this time last year. An updated model for 2025 (pictured here) could help turn that around.

The new entry-level Trax SUV, which won a 10Best award for 2024, is proving that an attractive base price can go a long way. Starting at under $22,000, the new-for-2024 Trax is now one of the bestselling Chevys, even outpacing the Equinox on this list.

Jeep Grand Cherokee: 160,939 units sold​

The Grand Cherokee mid-size SUV continues to outsell its stablemates in the Jeep lineup, and it's Stellantis' second bestselling vehicle after the Ram pickup. Sales were down 12 percent through the first three quarters.

Toyota Corolla: 177,092 units sold​

Sales of the Corolla compact car grew by 7 percent through the first three quarters, but it wasn't enough to catch its close rival, the Honda Civic. We'll continue to watch this rivalry throughout the year to see who comes out on top.

Honda Civic: 188,422 units sold​

The Civic was up by 28 percent, which made it the bestselling compact car in the country and was even enough to earn it a place in the top 10 bestsellers. A Civic Hybrid joins the lineup for the 2025 model year.

Nissan Rogue: 189,156 units sold​

Rogue sales have been up and down so far this year, posting a 10 percent decrease compared with the first three quarters of last year. A styling update arrived for 2024 that also brought some new features.

Toyota Camry: 227,576 units sold​

The Camry's top spot among passenger cars (vehicles that aren't SUVs or pickup trucks) is as sure as the tides. Sales were up 4 percent through the first half, and that's likely a mix of the old model and the new hybrid-only 2025 Camry (pictured).

GMC Sierra: 229,011 units sold​

While sales of some other full-size pickups were down, the Sierra lineup gained 6 percent compared with last year. This includes both the light-duty Sierra 1500 and the heavy-duty 2500 and 3500 models, but not the Sierra EV, which sold 387 units.

Ram Pickup: 268,666 units sold​

The Ram is struggling so far this year, with sales down 19 percent compared with this time last year. Perhaps the arrival of the refreshed 2025 model, along with the Ramcharger plug-in hybrid and electric Ram REV will help.

Honda CR-V: 298,164 units sold​

Although it wasn't quite enough to catch the Toyota RAV4, the CR-V sold 14 percent more than it did at this time last year. Honda also says that more than half of those sales were of the CR-V Hybrid.

Tesla Model Y: 312,000 units sold​

The Model Y dipped a bit in terms of its placement on this list, according to Automotive News estimates for the first three quarters. (Tesla doesn't report sales numbers in the same way other automakers do, which is why we have to rely on estimates.)

Sales of the light-duty Silverado were up through the first three quarters, but the heavy-duty versions were down. This total does not include the 5252 units of the Silverado EV sold during this time.

Ford F-Series: 528,028 units sold​

Ford's lineup of light-duty and heavy-duty pickups is always in this top spot, and 2024 is no exception. But there's trouble in paradise, as sales were down 4 percent through the first three quarters. We're now not including sales of the electric F-150 Lightning in this total; it sold 22,807 units.
