These are now in the Bolyai-Teleki library in Târgu-Mureș. In 1945 the Hungarian university in Cluj was named after him. The Romanian University of Cluj which had been the King Ferdinand I University, was renamed Babeș University (after the Romanian natural scientist Victor Babeș).
