The steel used in the famous Damascus blades were was actually made in SL! Is this still a hypothesis or an accepted fact??

Speculative at best. But possible. Studies have shown that SL produced high quality Wootz steel. The furnaces described in the article were capable of the constant temperature and pressure differentials required to make iron combine with the carbon in charcoal and produce steel. The ingots were imported via Indian ports to the middle East and Africa. India also made Wootz steel and exported it so its possible some of the Sri Lankan Wootz ingots got turned into Damascus blades.
