I've sometimes wondered, along my way to colombo on the train, how must have the British have drilled through rocks so carefully, simply leaving hollow space in the middle yet having the rim of it strong to have a train go through it. These pics explian like it was labour-intensive, so every bit would have been taken out chipping. Most of these pictures, infact almost all of it, is of the Colombo Kandy intercity route, the part along the Kadugannawa police over there and all..Really, looking at all these pics, were there photographers recording all these back then? How did they have their technology, taking it around and all that?? And where were these stored later on? And how do you get at them? Definitely these are not available in digital form from the original photographers..</blockquote>
