The All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama yesterday claimed that all Muslims in Sri Lanka belonged to Ahlus Sunnah wal Jama'at who are involved in various Da'wah Organisations. "None of these organisations are involved in any terrorist activities or related to any armed groups.
All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama opposes the media's misuse of the word Jihad or Jihad Groups for Muslims' group conflicts and exaggerating their problems in media, Assistant General Secretary of the All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ash-Shaikh M. S. M. Thassim stated in a press release.
"All Ceylon Jamiyyathul Ulama requests the Muslims that they should not get involved in any propaganda misleading the Muslim community and causing humiliation for the whole Muslims and to work towards reuniting the concerned groups, at a time when some elements are trying to twist the recent Mahagoda, Beruwela incident into a huge public issue.
It is the duty of every Muslim to make an effort to guarantee that such incidents do not happen in the future.
Furthermore, Jamiyyah advices every Muslim to live in this country with patience, mutual understanding, compromise and unity, at this time of rejoicing at the dawn of peace in Sri Lanka.
