I was thinking of you Mom
Remembering my childhood years
How being in your presence
Would take away all my fears
I felt the comfort of your arms
Holding me close on the rocking chair
I remember I would look up and stare
At the beauty of your long satin hair
You would sing me a sweet lullabye
As you put me down to sleep
Or you would say a prayer
Kneeling down at my feet
Now I am older and have grown
Thinking of you soothes my soul
And when I am weary and tense
These thoughts give me control
Remembering my childhood years
How being in your presence
Would take away all my fears
I felt the comfort of your arms
Holding me close on the rocking chair
I remember I would look up and stare
At the beauty of your long satin hair
You would sing me a sweet lullabye
As you put me down to sleep
Or you would say a prayer
Kneeling down at my feet
Now I am older and have grown
Thinking of you soothes my soul
And when I am weary and tense
These thoughts give me control
