Addressing the nation during a rising crisis must give a hope to the citizens and should elaborate the action plan already set to carry out preventive measures, along with a word of appreciation for those who are working tirelessly to settle the situation around the country.
But.., there was no indication of a lockdown because people always behave irresponsibly as long as there are no laws or rules imposed to control them. There was nothing regarding the deferment of the election beside requesting to support their faction in the upcoming election. Nothing but everything that has already been done was explained displaying the incapablity to execute the powers vested on the post. Simply put, when everybody is seeking protection, they are concerned about an election.
All comparisons aside, this is the true nature of Sri Lanka. Every ruler who came to power only talked about power and the consideration of keeping it as long as they need even at times the entire country is suffering the shadows of a probable crisis. This is Sri Lanka.
