He was then asked to come to the Marawila town with the money. The liquor manufacturer had however reported the incident to the Bribery Commission and the constable was arrested while receiving the money yesterday morning. He was produced before Marawila Magistrate and remanded until April 7. </p><p>Meanwhile two Excise officers attached to Dombawela, Udugampola Excise office were charged in the Colombo Chief Magistrates Court for taking a bribe of Rs.1500 related to a narcotics offense.</p><p> The first accused was ordered to pay Rs.6000 for each charge a fine of Rs.1500 and given a nine month sentence suspended for five years. The second accused was fined Rs.3000 for the two charges and given a nine month sentence suspended for five years. A three year sentence was ordered if the duo could not pay the fines.</p></blockquote><p></p>
