Debt obligation was minimal. Our first debt was sterling pound loan given to build Railway from UK treasury and we paid it before independence.Simple country simple people and honest government servants who were dead fear to break FR or AR which were  their Bible! (quite contrast to 'sil redi' convicts in HC)</blockquote>
