Ok, I'm a person that has started to buy some items from EBay... I would like to share some tips.
1. EMS does not stop customs! - Ok at first I thought EMS is a great thing... I've heard some say EMS packages do not get caught in customs... well they do... anything wrapped as a box gets held up at customs (G. P. O).
2. EMS isn't fast - Sri Lanka is a tourist country and hence has a lot of flights... so EMS won't speed up things! I got a EMS package in 6 days, while a normal mail package took 7 days? Don't pay 2X for 1 day!!
3. Packet mail is the secret! Its a good idea to ask the seller to put it in a air packet rather than wrap it as a box! packets will be delivered by the postman to your door!! boxes will get held by customs. Remember packets get squished and tossed around! take care not to ask the seller to put your camera in a packet.
4. Don't press 'Buy' - Don't press the 'Buy' button if you are not ready to pay.... the seller can give you a 'non-paying buyer' scar to account if you buy and don't pay!
5. Registered post - Ask sellers to send items via registered post.... which will have a tracking number!
6. Don't rate until your sure - Don't rate the item or give positive feed back when you get the item... test it for a few days and then leave feedback.
7. USA and China both same - Don't think you will get a perfect product just because you ordered from UK/USA... they can have bad products just like China... Chinese products are NOT BAD....
