Members of the National Movement Against Terrorism were got busy with building bunkers in Kebithigollewe area in last three days. In the first day, after the explanation of Divisional secretary of Kebithigollewe about the situation in the area and the need of bunkers to the area group of NMAT volunteers started the work.

Except the construction of bunkers, NMAT members had a discussion with the villagers in the refuge camps. Spokesmen for NMAT requested villagers to go back to their native lands. As well they made a distribution of stationery and some other essentials among the school children of Halmillawetiya primary school. Some books for the school library also donated by the NMAT on that occasion.

NMAT leaders had a discussion with the minister Tissa Karaliyedda on the security of the area. The minister came to location unexpectedly to see the work done by volunteers. Here NMAT leaders explain what they can do for the villagers in threatened areas.

Villagers and the government officials of the area greatly appreciate the work don by NMAT. NMAT wishes to continue such kind of helps to people in the threatened villages. more >>
