    Check it

Check your distance to the screen of monitor ?
First, sit and see the picture above, with the distance less than 1 meter.
Second, step back about 2 metres.
now… in step first and second, you should read some statement.

    Near : YOU ARE CLOSE
Far : YOU ARE FAR AWAY

In any case, while putting an unshielded computer TOWER in immediate proximity of a plasma screen can affect it, the risk is not *that* great...after all, they make laptop computers with plasma screens...and the amount of shielding for the EM generating equipment is essentially nonexistent. The HEAT given off by the laptop is more likely to damage the laptop's screen (LCD or Plasma) than the EM the laptop emits. Unless you have a 2 or 3 terr magnet attached to your computer, the 1 metre or more separation you're planning to use from even the most sensitive screen will prevent "damage"...mind you, if you're stupid enough to place that strong of a magnetic field onto your computer, you've just fried everything in it, likely including the CPU, GPU, and BIOS chip! (And in the case of *my* computer at least, it cost more new than that 46 inch flat screen!)
