thanks earthling...just finished seeing this one...and wow..it was deeper than i expected. and amusing. and all the gore wasn't painfully disturbing either..
this, however, reminded me of this other italian(i guess) movie "salo, 120 days of sodomy" which dealt with somewhat similar aspects, eventhough salo was infact so shallow lol.

guess you've seen salo, in case you haven't...it is one of most sickest movies to ever exist.

I havent seen salo.... but i got 'Audition' down & gonna check it out today...

talking about the sickest movies..checkout the below one..also directed by the same giy who did Martyrs

    517PRtZ2u1L._SS500_.jpg

also this guy is directing one of my all time fav horror stories by Barker called "Hell Raiser"

Its about this guy looking for an ancient rumor about a puzzle that will unlock the "Ultimate Pleasure/Ecstasy" for a human... finally he finds it and when unlocked it unleashes the ultimate pleasure givers... ya u might have guessed it :P ..they are torture specialist from hell (demons who are specialized in giving the ultimate pain from unimaginable torture)...

so these demons starts torturing him in the most unthinkable ways & finally he finds that the Ultimate Pleasure for a human body is only achieved from the ultimate Pain...Meaning the ultimate pain is the ultimate pleasure for a human (Remember Martyrs ???..it talked about the same thing right ? Martyrs can only be achived by experiencing the ultimate pain..most people die long before this stage but a handful achieve it right ? :P)

..one of my most anticipated movies this year with... guess this... the Director who Directed OldBoy & sympathy for mr. Vengeance has directed this Gem ..

    Bakjwi (Thirst)

    thirst.jpg

This is about a Vampire (A priest that turns in to a vampire..:D ) and this one was one of the top 20 movies that competed in Canes for the top movie spot..and is getting rave reviews & many say that this movie & the pure awesomeness that was "Let the Last One In' are the best Vampire movies made in a decade..

I almost came after first hearing about this :D

first of all, now you mentioned it, let the right one in is absolutely undoubtedly mindblowingly beautiful that it made me pity those twilight fans. but they say makers of that movie left so much behind that was in the book, however, in spite of that, that will remain one of my all time favorites right after tim roth's "the war zone". and ltr1i ...jeez its beyond my vocab to describe the feelings it gave me.

and thanks again for intro'ing martyrs to me ..i can't still cease thinking of that movie lol that last line "keep doubting" before the lady blew her head made the movie what it is. and the concept behind the theme of that movie is pretty unigue and awesome...no other horror/sick movies had this depths in the plot. i think ill dig french cinema scene. and i will defa look into others out of martyr makers.

hell raiser appears to turn out to be great lol im already loving the theme. but there's this old british slasher movies with the same name right?

and the "thirst" if its gna be something like "let the right one in" id dig it the most cos im a sucker for that sort of movies.

and salo, on the other hand, is good for the sake of viewing such sick movies lol im not gna ruin it for you, but that movie covers some sickest things basing social/human standards. and youd dig audition.

lol im gna end my long reply lol..just finished downloading man from earth ..will post here what i thought about it later when im done seeing.

Agreed..for me Sympathy For Mr. Vengeance is a Dark Comedy... Probably one of the best Dark Comedies in recent times... Can u forget the opening scene ?... where the guys jerking off to the girl's moaning sound coming from the next room saying "Oh man this is so good"...pan to the next room to see the girl withering moaning away in agony because of her kidney disease & pan more to show her Deaf Brother munching noodles happily away obvious to everything ??? man................ if thats not tragic comedy I dont know what is ?..infact the entire film is filled with instances like this ne ?..Hollywood will never ever come even close to achieving greatness in movies like these have achieved

    A true Masterpiece..

but S for Lady V..was not that good for me tho...

yeah...it was relatively very realistic...unlike oldboy. and the movie was really very raw...it didn't even have a sound track for most of it..almost all of it which made it barely bearable. lol i remember the scene...one of those guys had a picture stuck to the guy whos ahead of him lol it cracked me up. and the movie was kind of abstract too ..lack of dialogs i guess..sometimes it was hard to make out what the hell is going on....

what did you think of that retarded handicapped dude by the lake lol when the lil girl was dead and floating when he reached her to siez her neckless, that was just priceless. and again the movie leaves you with thoughts to analyse..who exactly was the mr. v...the deaf dude or the other guy...

speaking of horror movies, which came out in recent past, "the decent" was amazing..you might wna check that out if you have not already...

there are many versions of texas chainsaw massacre ..i liked this one where two bros and their gfs get caught on their way to army or something...and course, i haven't had a chance to get my hands on the very original version which had come out in 70s..

nah..I havnt check out 'da decent' yet..thnx..I will.. yh orginally texas was released in 3 versions. 1979, 2003 and 2005. 1979 ver. was named "Texas chaisaw massacre : Next Generation" which was suppose to be the final of the true story, came in first. The middle of the storyline came in 2003, which starred by Jessica Beil. And 2005, the two bro situation which was the beginning of the storyline. The Birth of Leather face!..Anyway..yh it was one of the damned true stories ever..If like that taste remem to check "Last house on Left"

    Thnx for the rep mn!

well..cant say jessica's massacre that much of crap..:) ..but worth watchin..anyway yah i ve seen those films..check out rob's newest direction of Halloween (Re-creation).. The original halloween movies are not much scarier, even though, during in late 80,90 these movies became hits..but nowadays ppl mostly go after thrillers, gore and torture based movies (saw, midnight meat train, trackman etc.)

speechless.... who would have thought a 90mintues of constant talking, talking, talking and talking would have my eyes fixed upon the screen through out the entire thing. this movies is absolute mindfuck. not only the guy fucks the minds of his friends (unintentionally in their case)up but of viewers as well. lots of philosophy and intellects thrown right in your face to think for minutes even after the movie is over..and a big fuck-you for the over-produced-hyped-costed hollywood trash we receive down our throats everyday. this is where people realize you don't need shootouts, car chases, forced humor and hot chicks to carry a movie to the end, to have the audience amazed/stuck till the end, hell not even a moving plot. but the ideas, in this movie, were flooding. more you watch more to think. this is, if not almost, perfection. no other movie, as i recall, held such fascination my friends. and the big thank should go to earthling..yes, i wasn't convinced enough at first when he posted it on the first page of this thread for it looked sci fi which i never have had much interest for. then after reading some comments on different sites i was inclined to do so. however, this masterpiece of a movie, people, is a true work of art.

Knew you'd love this...:D I have watched this about 4 times now..

Alone I watched this 2 times...was so impressed by this & cause I love to debate about these kinds of stuff with my dad, I sat my farther down & watched it with him...Then He was so impressed by this that we watched it again the next day...still sometimes we are arguing & discussing some of the philosophical issues talked about in this movie (specially about Religion)

what would life be without movies like these ha ? feel so sad for some of the guys who thinks that movies like Twilight & American Pie or Transformers are the best movies they have watched...
