    Hi,

    I have a Toyota Axio 2014 car.
    Current mileage is around 126200.

While I was driving the car; check engine and several other lights showed up on the dashboard.
It was the first time I experienced this.
Then I took the car to closest place and did a scan.
Im putting images of the scan report.

As a temporary solution, they reset the system and all errors disappeared. But they recommended to do a hybrid battery service and replace affected battery cells.

Then I took the car to 3 places.

    - Hybrid Hub branch at Colombo.
I showed them the scan report I got yesterday and they said only solution for this problem is to replace the whole battery (either reconditioned or brand new)
They quoted Rs. 390000 for brand new battery with 1 year warranty.

    - Toyota Lanka
Only brand new batteries are available. Rs. 390000 with 1 year warranty.

    - Browns Hybrid
Recommendation was to get a brand new battery.
    Quoted me 315000 + 50000km or 18 months warranty.
Their explanation for price difference was this.
They are importing the Prius battery which has 28 cells. Then they take 20 cells from that and fix it to Axio as Axio have only 20 cells.
Basically import duty reduction and extra 8 cells which they can use for other vehicle is their explanation for price reduction.

    These are my questions:

    01. Will it cause any harm to the quality of the battery with what Browns Hybrid are doing?
    02. What advises you guys can give me?
    03. Any other places I should check out?

    Thanks

Machan I've replaced the hybrid battery from Browns in 2018 and so far no issues what so ever. At that time it was around Rs. 290,000 and Toyota Lanka price was Rs. 425,000. Hybrid hub price was around Rs. 360,000 and they wanted to keep the car for 3 days for the battery replacement. Browns took like two hours to replace the battery. Done all battery services after replacement (every 9 months or 18,000KM) and battery cell voltage difference right now is just 0.02-0.04V. P0A80 code triggers when battery cell voltage difference(highest charged cell and lowest charged cell difference) is over 1.00V. Replaced the battery for Rs. 290,000 and sold the original cells for Rs. 95,000..

    1. At that time I had no idea where these cells came from. They were kept plugged into a charger before installation.
    2. Ikman.lk. Some Aqua owner bought it to replace his 4 dead cells and probably sold the rest(as I was only willing to sell as a whole and not each cell individually).

    Your vehicle is Aqua?
How many KMs did you run after fixing the battery?

    Thanks

No machan it's a 2013 Axio. Very early import. One of first 2000 produced. I replaced the battery at 79,000KM(right around 5 years from manufactured date) and current mileage is 105,000KM. So about 25,000KM after replacement.

No problem. I used Torque app to reset code and it got me through few days of use before the battery replacement and currently using Dr.Prius app to monitor the battery.

    Machan,
what is the Bluetooth OBD interface you are using? I searched SL websites for the brands Dr.Prius website recommend, but couldnt find anything.

    Thanks

Sorry machan just saw this. I use some blue color chinese adapter I bought way back around 2012 from aliexpress for around Rs.500. It works fine with Dr. Prius and Torque apps.
