    Hi Guys,

Has anyone traveled in Turkish Airlines TK731 from Colombo to Istanbul on Business class? Do you know if the seats are flatbed or ordinary reclining seats? It seems Turkish has two configurations for A333. Older planes have reclining seats and newer planes have flatbeds. Just want to know which aircraft they use for CMB-MLE-IST route.

    @imhotep maybe?

Sorry.. no idea. I only know that most traffic from Romania is handled by TK. They allow 45 - 50 kg even on economy. I have met several taking this flight at the KIA. It's a long flight probably more than 9 hrs (stopover in Male) and most likely have flatbeds in Business Class. You can check from Turkish Airlines in Colombo.
I always use SQ if they service the route.

    no flat bed
    use sri lankan airlines

Thanks machan. I am a very patriotic guy. I don't travel in Sri Lankan.
(The truth is Sri Lankan usually costs double than other airlines. Why pay extra for poor service? In this case however, UL doesn't serve this sector).

Thanks machan. You are right. its a very long flight. That's the reason why I'm not keen on paying for a reclining seat. The other option is QR, which I usually fly, but TK is much cheaper and quicker. Thanks for your help and the tip...

    out of fucked up land
fly with a different airline if possible. I had a delay of about 3 hours in Male with that flight and almost missed my connection. flight is too long and tiring. I flew economy class and it was't too bad. not sure how it is in business class

I have traveled on that route many times, but I must say I've never seen any flatbed-type seats in business class, and as I remember, aircrafst seem bit old and noisy.

Machan - this is the old model A330 B-class of TK (reclining seat)

This is the new model TK A330 (flatbed):

Do you remember which one it was? Thanks in advance.

well, looks like i have been on both of types. because one thing remeber for sure that some aircraft dont have touchscreen infrotainmnets syetem (old joystic) and some did have touch infortainmnets ystems. so my answer is both configurations are availble. you have to contact them

I have traveled the same TK730 route in a new model. But one of my friend, who traveled after me, said it was a older aircraft on the day he traveled.
So, they must be using different aircrafts for different days.

none of them are good to be honest. I've tried qatar, turkish, singapore, etihad. I haven't travelled in busincess/frist class though
I always fly SQ and the econ class food is as not good as the pre-covid times. This is what many say. However, Business class food and service cannot be complained at all. It's a different level of service and comfort.
