Two turbines were damaged in the LTTE air raid at Kelanitissa power station. Power generation using the damaged turbines was suspended. However the Ceylon Electricity Board confirmed that the damage will not affect the consumers.
Woman injured from shell fired in retaliation
A woman of Hunupitiya, Wattala sustained injuries when a shell fired by the security forces during the LTTE air raid on Kelanitissa Power station hit her house. She was admitted to the Ragama Hospital with fractured legs.
