Plot: The tires of a baby-blue ?53 Cadillac Coupe de Ville convertible squeal down the New York street, and none of its occupants looks back. My One and Only movie, a comedy drama directed by Richard Loncraine, tells the tale of a mother who travels with her children in search of a prosperous socialite who can take care of them. Ann Devereaux (Renée Zellweger) is fed up of her bandleader husband's philandering ways. So she takes their 1953 Cadillac and her two sons, Robbie (Mark Rendall) and George (Logan Lerman), to drive down the Eastern Seaboard in search of another man who can sponsor their future. However, Ann soon realizes that finding a new mate is not that easy and with both the time and the miles rolling on, George starts developing a dislike for their new life on the road as well as Ann's apparently egotistical choices. Meanwhile, as Ann continues to guide her sons on a narrow highway amid excitement and panic, George finally discovers the resolve, self-esteem and that lies below his mother’s selfish exterior. Ann also succeeds to in securing a future for herself and her sons in an unimaginable manner.
