‘Unofficial power cuts’ are continuing despite an assurance by the Ministry of Power and Energy that no more power cuts will be carried out.
Electricity Board sources said that a two hour power cut was introduced in the Horana area while more power cuts are to be carried out in other areas.
“The reason is that there is a shortfall of power supply and until there is sufficient production there will be powercuts’, a CEB source said.
He said that there is a shortfall of 500 Mw. per day.
