The UNP has called on the government to act diplomatically and not cause any rifts between India and Sri Lanka.
UNP General Secretary Tissa Attanayake told a press conference that the government needed to be diplomatic when dealing with the international community.
He said the issues between India and Sri Lanka should be resolved through discussion.
Attanayake also called on the government to release the details of the discussion held with the Indian government delegation that visited the country last week.
He said the people needed to know what the government had agreed to implement and refused to do.
