Check if your profile is complete and represents your skills at the professional level in your area of expertise. Only choose jobs that you are really confident in doing. Also your cover letter is invaluable to lure a potential client. It should be written with an intent that addresses the client's problem and should illustrate why you are a good fit for the job. It should be short and up to the point and there should be no-nonsense. Within your first couple of lines you should be able to get the client interested in going through your description. Getting jobs is purely up to your skills in communication. Even if you are skilled at something, but if your writing looks amateur, I am afraid you won't be able to land on anything. Its a global market place so people don't care to give attention to anything that doesn't make them want to pay attention to. Polish up writing and keep applying. Always be polite and give the priority to the client's problem at hand rather than wasting so many keystrokes to explain who you are. If you have a good, detailed profile it speaks itself so no need any unnecessary explanations. Good luck.
