    Might be poisoned torrents.

    From utorrent FAQ

    Wasted shows a combination of discarded data and bad data. Discarded data is data that's sent to you by a peer that your client didn't want. Hashfails happen when bad data is received and the piece fails the integrity check.

    Do not worry if this happens, since the data that fails the integrity check is discarded and re-downloaded. If you get an abnormal (hundreds of MB) amount of hash fails, it may be a poisoned torrent. If the torrent never finishes (gets stuck at 99.9% and has tons of hash fails), your router may be mangling the packets.

    This happens if there is bad data. Also when some one is trying to rig the torrent by sending high amounts of bad data so that good traffic is swapped by it. Anti P2P guys trolling torrents :growl: :angry:

    You will have to blacklist the ip addresses of those sending bad data.

    try this:

    :yes: :yes:
    @Blacknight,
    Try to use private trackers.
    When the public trackers are used this is a normal fact.

    It still happens with private trackers, but not significant. It must be just packet errors, not intentional trolling.

    If the hashfails are unusually high then it must be poisoned. Packet errors might bring about several megabytes for a very large file but not too high like several times more than the actual file size.

    demonoid now have too much leechers. And sometimes private torrents will find their way into public trackers within hours. :(
