Memory interface determines the rate at which memory can be accessed, a 64bit interface has half the memory bandwidth compared to a 128bit interface. Memory size doesn't matter, if the memory cannot be accessed quickly enough. Most games can run pretty well with 256MB of video RAM, and those that require 512MB or more cannot be run well on a 9400 series card anyways. Therefore a 9400GT 256MB 128bit card is faster than a 9400Gt 512MB 64bit.</blockquote>
