The curse in school literature is, I don't know the basis for this attitude, that English writers like Charles Dickens are compared with Indian writers who wrote crap.I think English lit. should be ENGLISH, and should they find Indian writings necessary that should come seperately like Post Colonial Literature etc.</blockquote>
