install a virtual machine software, and run VC++ 6.0 on Windows XP

Just download and install DevC++ it's enough for uni stuff.... ~6MB

What matter to me is
Will it look like the same I see in the university software

Windows 7 comes with MS Virtual server right ? no need to use 3rd party virtualization software..

I think bro it is with Ultimate and Professional Editions. Not sure with home premium.
If it is there user MS thing.
(I am 100% pure linux user. No windows at all. That is y I did nt remeber it )

go with virtualbox. Very easy to use.
And yes, you'll need a XP bootable CD to actually install XP in a virtual machine.

Cancel that download right now! even with MS Virtual Server, you still need the XP CD or ISO file.
Save the bandwidth and download Virtualbox and a XP iso.

I'm pretty sure the Virtual server that comes with Win7 Pro editions doesnt have inbuilt XP either..
