VMware error

I'm getting this error.
"make sure the virtual machine's configuration allows the guest to open host applications"

What's this suppose to mean?
Host = Win7
Guest = Win8

I was trying to check mails through that built in mail app in win 8. And once i clicked on a link, this message came up.

how have you configured the guest network for this VM ? Also how have you configured the mail app ?
The guest seems to be trying to access host devices or services for this mail app for which it doesnt have permission.

i'm logging in to win8 through my live mail account. so i don't have to configure mails. it's automated.
