Buddhism does say be kind to every one and show them peace.

But what to you do when someone comes towards you wanting to kill you? We are all human, we protect ourselves. What do you do when you see others hurting your friends, family and citizens? You defend them with what way you can.

The only way see through Buddism is to teach the other side, Buddhism. But would they ever listen? I doubt it.

We need to teach buddhism to others to make peace. I don't think enough is being done in this country for that. most priests I guess do not follow the vinaya, so... Buddhism is on the verge of extinction in Sri Lanka. My thoughts at least.

buddhism clearly states "those problems the require court sentences and problem that must be solved thru government must be solved thru the existing (fair)law and then after that applying buddhisms concepts is the correct way to implement"

so why make such a big fuss?
WAR is WAR they started it we end it just like that

Oky let me ask a question , suppose that we not defeat them , then LTTE will
rule our country. LTTE didn't give the freedom to even to the tamil ppl under their
control areas . So do you think they will give us a freedom to peacefully lean
    our religon ?
well I don't thinks so , a terr group who make cover by innocent ppl ? who put
children to the war ? who fight like sarvages with breaking all the war rules ?

answer for that ? please . what the Buddhist ppl need is a place where they need to learn their religon peacefully.

that is what King Dutugamanu did. I don't think He force anyone to become
    buddish.

Because of his great effort , that's why our religon is living today , for
the all the benifit of the human beings ( not only sinhala ). And a right
Buddhist didn't force any person to learn Buddhist.

Otherwise the sri lanka will be a place like America , without any religon , only
the richest ppl can live happily and everybody can have sex with everyone.
80% of the kids are drug addicts. Glad to have a religon no matter what is it.

    another one idea machan ,

as the King Dutugamamanu did , we should not force anyone to learn
our religon. If some Buddhist is doing that he is a person on the side of the hell.
Not the side of Great Loard Buddha. King Dutugamanu never did that. we should
make our religon open to every human being , yes we should give and let the
opportunity to learn and understood the truth. But should not force them.
Thinks always that if you discussing and let somebody to underestand the
truth is the greatest thing that you can did in this life. But should not force
. and a good Buddhist didn't force someone like that .
