Some of you guys are comparing industry standard editing software like Adobe Premier with Consumer products like Ulead. No comparison really.

If you are an amatuer I suggest you start with a program that's made for the average consumer market but will give you basic training to move up the ladder into a more professional editing environment. Pinnacle and Avid are the same company, if you start off learnign to use pinnacle studio 11 then moving to Avid Express, Avid Liquid and other Avid products will be easier.

Avid is more or less the industry standard when it comes to broadcast post production/news editing etc. When you reach the professional level then it's upto you to choose which path you wanna take Adobe or Avid.

Its depend

I use Adobe Premiere Pro CS3, as I know most of professionals using Adobe Premiere Pro CS3, Avid and Final Cut Pro

I would highly recommend Adobe Preimere Pro CS 3 which includes Adobe OnLocation CS3 and Adobe Encore CS3. You can expand your creative options via intergration with Adobe After Effects CS3 and Adobe Photoshop CS3.

Finally you can deliver your content to DVD, Blu-ray, the web and miblie devices too.

Its one the best start-to-finish solution for efficient video production.
